QUETTA: Unknown accused opened fire and killed a policeman on Sariab Road on Wednesday morning. Police sources said the armed accused opened fire and left a police constable identified as Akhtar Hussain. The attackers managed to escape unhurt from the spot.

Police reached the spot and started an investigation into the incident. Police collected evidence from the spot of the incident. Police sources said the police constable was going to his home after completing his duty when attacked on Sariab Road.

The dead body of the policeman was shifted to the civil hospital Quetta. A large number of people also reached the civil hospital after the incident. Police sources termed the incident as an act of targeted killing in the city.
