KHUZDAR: A blast targeted the vehicle of the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) in the Khuzdar district of Balochistan on Sunday. The Station House Officer (SHO), Murad sustained serious wounds and succumbed to injuries on the way to the hospital.

Police sources said two security personnel were injured in the attack. The injured were rushed to the Khuzdar district headquarters hospital for medical treatment. Police and senior administration officials reached the spot and started an investigation into the incident.

Panic prevailed in the city in the aftermath of the blast. The vehicle was also damaged in the attack.

Chief Minister Balochistan, Ali Mardan Domki strongly condemned the attack and ordered an inquiry into the incident. In a statement soon issued after the attack, the Caretaker CM said the perpetrators of the blast would be brought to justice.

The Caretaker CM vowed to protect the lives and properties of the masses across the province.
