CHAMAN: In an unfortunate incident on Wednesday, an unidentified assailant injured a levies personnel engaged in an anti-polio campaign in the Guldara Baghicha area of Chaman. According to police sources, the assailant subjected the levies personnel to torture on the outskirts of Chaman.
Shockingly, other policemen present during the campaign did not intervene to resist the assault on their colleague. This disturbing development occurred shortly after protesters at the Chaman sit-in declared a suspension of the anti-polio campaign in the area.
As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the attack on the levies personnel. The Balochistan Health Department’s ongoing anti-polio campaign in the Chaman district faces a setback due to this unfortunate incident.
