In a devastating turn of events, Balochistan has been rocked by two coordinated bomb explosions, resulting in the loss of at least 28 lives and leaving dozens injured. The first explosion occurred outside the election campaign office of Asfandyar Khan Kakar, an independent candidate for PB-47 in the Pishin district. Deputy Commissioner Jumadad Mandokhail confirmed the tragic toll, with 14 individuals losing their lives and over two dozen sustaining injuries in this ruthless attack.
Govt Declares 3-Days Of Mourning
The Balochistan government has declared three days of mourning in response to these heinous acts of terrorism, which have once again plunged the province into grief and turmoil. Investigations reveal that unknown assailants planted a bomb concealed within a motorcycle parked near Mr. Khan’s campaign office in the Khanozai bazar of Pishin district, leading to a devastating explosion that claimed innocent lives and caused widespread destruction.
India Behind Attacks: Achakzai
Balochistan Caretaker Information Minister Jan Achakzai has unequivocally pointed fingers at India, accusing it of orchestrating these terror attacks to foment unrest in the region. Despite these reprehensible acts, Achakzai affirmed the government’s unwavering resolve to conduct elections in Balochistan, emphasizing that democracy must prevail over the nefarious designs of terrorists.
Meanwhile, the injured were swiftly transported to medical facilities for urgent treatment. Khanozai Hospital initially provided medical aid, but those critically wounded were transferred to the Trauma Center in Quetta. Waseem Baig, spokesperson for the Civil Hospital, reported that the condition of five individuals remains critical, underscoring the severity of the situation.
Blast Targets JUI Office In Killa Saifullah
Tragically, a second blast targeted the election campaign office of Maulana Abdul Wasey, the Balochistan Amir of Jamiat ul Ulema e Islam (F), in the Killa Saifullah district. Deputy Commissioner Yasir Khan Bazai confirmed the toll, with 12 fatalities and over a dozen individuals sustaining injuries in this callous attack. Fortunately, Maulana Wasey was not present in the office at the time of the explosion, sparing him from harm.
Rescue operations and law enforcement swiftly responded to the scene of the attack, with injured individuals promptly transported to the district headquarters hospital in Killa Saifullah for urgent medical attention. Balochistan Caretaker Chief Minister Ali Mardan Domki condemned these cowardly acts of terrorism in the strongest terms, assuring the public that the perpetrators will be brought to justice. Domki reiterated the government’s unwavering commitment to ensuring fair and peaceful elections in Balochistan, standing firm against the forces of chaos and extremism.
