GWADAR: Security forces successfully eliminated all seven armed attackers in Gwadar on Wednesday evening, as confirmed by Zohaib Mohsin, the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP). The assailants attempted to breach the perimeter of the Gwadar Port Authority (GPA).

Prompt response from the police and security forces led to the swift neutralization of the attackers. Videos circulating on social media captured the intensity of the gunfire exchange during the operation.

Forces Arrive At The Scene

A substantial deployment of police and law enforcement personnel swiftly arrived at the scene to thwart the terrorist attack. Saeed Umrani, Commissioner of Mekran Division, reported hearing explosions near the GPA and promptly dispatched forces to restore order in the area.

Mir Sarfaraz Bugti, Chief Minister of Balochistan, commended the security forces for their decisive action in repelling the terrorist assault. In a statement issued after the attack, he emphasized the government’s unwavering commitment to ensuring the safety and security of the people, asserting that the perpetrators had been successfully neutralized.

Security Tightened In And Around Gwadar

The outlawed Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) claimed responsibility for the attack, attributing it to the Majeed Brigade in a statement issued by the banned organization. The incident instilled panic in the port city, exacerbated by previous attacks on the PC Hotel and assaults targeting Chinese engineers.

Following the attack, security measures in and around the port city were heightened to prevent further incidents.
