Quetta, September 25, 2024 – The Honorable Rector of the National University of Modern Languages (NUML), Major General Shahid Mehmood Kayani (HI) M, visited NUML’s Regional Campus Quetta.
He was accompanied by Prof. Dr. Nadeem Talib, Director Academics, and Major Sajid. The Rector was warmly welcomed by the Regional Director, Colonel Nisar Ahmed, and his dedicated team.
The Rector’s visit was marked by a series of significant events, beginning with a formal ceremony that included the recitation of the Holy Quran and the National Anthem. During his address, the Rector emphasized the importance of academic excellence and personal development. He had the honor of distributing degrees and gold medals to successful graduates, as well as awards to standout cricket and football players.
Inauguration of New Facilities
The Rector toured the entire campus and inaugurated the newly established Department of Psychology and an Examination Hall, reflecting NUML’s commitment to expanding its academic offerings. The Rector appreciated the efforts of the faculty and administration in enhancing the university’s facilities.
Cultural Celebration Showcases Regional Heritage
The students of NUML Quetta organized a vibrant cultural event that highlighted Pashtun and Baloch traditions. Dressed in traditional attire, students presented Balochi and Pashtoon turbans to the Rector and performed traditional dances, delighting the audience. The Rector expressed his appreciation for the display of rich cultural heritage.
Promoting Environmental Awareness
As a gesture of his commitment to environmental conservation, the Rector planted a tree on campus, emphasizing the importance of preserving nature.
Future Expansion Plans
On September 25, 2024, the Rector visited the newly allotted 10-acre site designated for NUML Quetta’s future expansion. He provided directives to the Regional Director on the possession and development of the new site, highlighting NUML’s future growth trajectory.
