Karachi: The Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Medical University (SZABMU) is set to re-conduct the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) 2024 on November 24, 2024, as ordered by the Islamabad High Court (IHC). The IHC’s decision follows a petition challenging irregularities in the original test held on September 22, 2024.
However, uncertainty looms over the exact date of the re-test due to a planned protest by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in Islamabad on the same day. The imposition of Section 144 in Islamabad for two months further complicates the situation.
MDCAT aspirants are expressing frustration and anxiety over the lack of clarity regarding the test date. The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has already postponed its National Registration Exam (NRE), originally scheduled for November 24, to December 15.
While December 1st appears to be a more likely date for the MDCAT re-test, official confirmation from the PMDC or SZABMU is still awaited.
