QUETTA: Youth from Khuzdar and various parts of central Balochistan ended their protest camp against narcotics outside Quetta Press Club on Sunday evening. Sajjad Baloch, who led the participants of long march from Khuzdar to Quetta vowed to continue struggle against the menace of drugs in the province. Member provincial assembly from Balochistan National Party (Mengal), Akbar Mengal also joined the protesters inside the camp to express solidarity with them.
“We will continue our struggle against the menace of narcotics”, Mr. Baloch told reporters after announcing the decision to end the protest camp. The youth held protest camp outside QPC against the spread of drugs.
Participants of long march against the curse of narcotics reached Quetta on Saturday afternoon after walking for around 300 km from Khuzdar. Sajjad Baloch, the leader of the long march had launched a walk from Khuzdar to Quetta to protest over the spread of narcotics and create awareness among the people.
Mr. Baloch and three other youth had launched their walk on February 6th and reached Quetta on February 15. On their way to Quetta, Mr. Baloch and colleagues were joined by dozens of other youth and people belonging to various walks of life to create awareness among the people regarding the curse of narcotics.
“We want to eliminate the curse of narcotics through such awareness campaigns”, Mr. Baloch who received warm welcome outside Quetta Press Club said. He strongly condemned the killing of Samiullah Mengal allegdly by drug traffickers in Balochistan’s Noshki city. “We want justice for Samiullah Mengal who raised voice against the curse”, Mr. Baloch demanded.

The participants of long march established a camp outside Quetta Press Club to mount pressure on the authorities to launch a crack down against drug smugglers and peddlers in the province. People belonging to various walks of life visited the camp and expressed their support against the curse of narcotics.
