Khuzdar: In a major breakthrough, Asma Jatak, a 17-year-old girl abducted in Khuzdar, Balochistan, has been safely recovered by the district administration. The rescue operation took place in Sunni, Tehsil Anjera of Khuzdar, under the supervision of Commissioner Kalat Division Naeem Bazai.

Commissioner Bazai confirmed the recovery and informed Quetta Voice that, following the directives of Chief Minister of Balochistan, law enforcement agencies conducted multiple raids late last night. At around 5 PM today, police raided Tehsil Zehri Sunni of Khuzdar, leading to the arrest of 14 suspects connected to Asma’s abduction.

Public Outrage and Protests Over the Kidnapping

The kidnapping of Asma Jatak had sparked widespread protests in the region. Her family and local residents blocked the main Quetta-Karachi Highway at Nal for three consecutive days, demanding her immediate recovery. The case gained significant traction on social media, with hashtags such as #JusticeForAsmaJatak trending. The issue was also raised in the Balochistan Assembly, where lawmakers strongly condemned the incident and boycotted the session in protest.

Government’s Swift Action

In response to public outrage, the Chief Minister of Balochistan issued strict directives to law enforcement agencies, emphasizing that Asma must be rescued at all costs. Following the successful operation, authorities assured that further investigations are underway to bring all perpetrators to justice.
