Chief Minister Balochistan, Jam Kamal Khan on Monday said that his government was facing the burden of 1,500 old development schemes left by the previous government in the province. Wrapping debate on the budget in the house, the chief minister said that all districts and constituencies were given importance in the budget without any discrimination.
It is up to the opposition to reject or accept the budget, but with argument and facts and figures, Jam Kamal stated. He said that the government spent Rs. 70 billion on development schemes during the financial year 2019-20. Through Google maps, we tried to monitor all development schemes to make sure transparency, he informed.
The Chief Minister said that timely completion was top priority of the government and all-out efforts were being made to make sure transparency in all projects. Education and health sectors have been given priority in the current budget to improve social indicators in the province, he said.
About the Reko Diq, he said, “had there been mines and mineral policy, the condition of Reko Diq would have been different”. He said a policy was framed to protect the rich mineral and natural resources of Balochistan.
