QUETTA: Federal Minister for Railways Hanif Abbasi has announced the resumption of train services in Balochistan from March 27. The Jaffer Express will depart from Peshawar to Quetta tomorrow, while the return journey from Quetta to Peshawar will take place the following day.

Eid Special Train and Passenger Discounts

To facilitate travelers during Eid, a special train will depart from Quetta on March 29. Additionally, passengers will receive a 20% discount on tickets for the first three days of Eid.

Bolan Express to Operate Daily

The Bolan Express, which previously operated twice a week, will now run daily to enhance connectivity in the province. Moreover, the number of passenger trains in Balochistan will be increased from three to nine to improve travel facilities.

Security Measures and Recruitment Drive

Highlighting security concerns at railway stations, Abbasi revealed that 500 new personnel will be recruited into the Railway Police, with 70% of them belonging to Balochistan. In the next phase, an additional 1,000 individuals will be hired to strengthen railway security.

The resumption of train services is expected to significantly benefit passengers, traders, and businesses in the province.
