GWADAR: The district administration has imposed Section 144 in Gwadar following the announcement of a long march by Juma Islami Amir Maulana Hidayat ur Rahman from Gwadar to Quetta, the provincial capital.
According to a notification issued by the Deputy Commissioner, all public gatherings, display of weapons, and the use of vehicles with black-tinted glasses have been banned in the port city due to serious security threats.
Strict security measures have been adopted across Gwadar to maintain peace and prevent any untoward incidents. Police and other law enforcement agencies have set up checkpoints at key locations, and patrolling has been increased to ensure law and order.
The administration has appealed to the public to cooperate with authorities and avoid participating in unauthorized activities. “These measures are necessary for the safety and security of the citizens,” the Deputy Commissioner said.
The long march announcement by Maulana Rahman has raised political temperatures in the region, prompting authorities to remain on high alert. The situation is being closely monitored.
