QUETTA, April 14, 2025 —The Balochistan High Court has disposed of a petition seeking the release of Balochistan Yekjehti Committee(BYC) leader Dr. Mahrang Baloch detained under the Maintenance of Public Order (3 MPO), directing the petitioner to first approach the relevant forum.

A bench comprising Acting Chief Justice Ejaz Swati and Justice Amir Rana announced the reserved verdict in the case titled Nadia Baloch vs Government of Balochistan.

The court ruled that the petitioner must initially seek redressal from the Ministry of Interior, the appropriate authority for such matters, before approaching the high court.

The ruling marks a critical development in the ongoing legal proceedings related to the recent detentions of BYC leaders, as their supporters continue to demand their immediate release.
