KALAT: At least three people, including two women, were killed and five others injured in a powerful roadside bomb blast in Kalat district on Thursday, sparking panic across the area.

According to local sources, an improvised explosive device (IED) targeted a pickup vehicle, completely destroying it on impact. The explosion claimed three lives and left five others critically injured. The sound of the blast was heard several kilometers away, spreading fear among residents.

Rescue teams and law enforcement agencies rushed to the scene immediately. The injured were shifted to the nearest hospital, where an emergency was declared to provide timely medical treatment to all victims.

Police officials said the motive behind the attack is still unclear, and a thorough investigation is underway. Security has been tightened across Thursday and surrounding areas to prevent further incidents.

Kalat is considered one of Pakistan’s more sensitive regions, often affected by militant activities. Authorities have vowed to bring those responsible for the attack to justice.
