Dr. Shehla Sami, a female doctor who provided first medical aid to martyred and injured lawyers at Quetta civil hospital on August 8th, 2016, breathed her last. She died because of cardiac arrest, her family members and doctors in the civil hospital told the daily Quetta Voice. 

The news of her sudden demise went viral on social media with people expressing grief and sorrows over her death. Dr. Shehla was the only doctor who risked her life and provided first medical aid to the injured lawyers at civil hospital Quetta in the aftermath of a deadly suicide bombing that martyred 56 lawyers, two TV cameramen and around a dozen civilians on August 8th, 2016.

“Their cries still ring in my ears”, Dr. Shehla told reporters few days after the Quetta carnage. Her performance was hailed by people belonging to all walks of life. “This day will haunt me forever”, She recalled the sad day.

Once again, Dr. Shehla’s photos treating the injured members of legal fraternity lying helpless in civil hospital Quetta have gone viral. People from all walks of life have expressed grief and sorrow over the demise of Dr. Shehla Sami.
