Barkhan – An earthquake jolted Barkhan and its surrounding areas on Tuesday morning, with a magnitude of 4.4 recorded on the Richter scale. The depth of the earthquake was 31 miles underground, and the tremors were felt for several seconds. People rushed out of their homes and offices in fear as the ground shook beneath them.

The tremors were strongly felt in various areas of Barkhan, including Mehma Samand Khan, Kharrar Buzdar, Rarah Sham Radkan, and Chhapar. According to local residents, walls and windows of houses rattled during the quake. The Meteorological Department reported that the epicenter was near Barkhan, which lies on a dangerous fault line.

So far, no casualties or property damage have been reported. However, local authorities have put emergency response teams on high alert. Citizens have been advised to take precautionary measures and remain vigilant for possible aftershocks. Experts warn that Balochistan is one of the most earthquake-prone regions in Pakistan.
