Quetta marked a new milestone in regional air connectivity as Iran Air’s first passenger flight departed for Zahedan late Thursday night.

The launch ceremony was attended by the Iranian Consul General, the Airport Manager, senior security officials from the Civil Aviation Authority and ASF, as well as representatives from the local chamber of commerce.

According to Pakistan Airports Authority, Iran Air flight IR-824 took off from Quetta at 11:30 PM carrying 75 passengers bound for Zahedan. Earlier the same evening, the inaugural incoming flight from Zahedan landed at Quetta International Airport at 9:15 PM, marking the beginning of the new route.

The airline has confirmed that this service will operate once a week, every Thursday, offering passengers a direct travel option between Quetta and Zahedan. Officials expressed hope that the route will boost cross-border travel, trade, and cultural exchange between Pakistan and Iran.
