Qila Saifullah, September 9 — Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti said the people of the province stand united against terrorism and vowed that those responsible for killing innocent citizens will be brought to justice. He was addressing a large public gathering in Qila Saifullah on the invitation of MPA Maulvi Noorullah.
Bugti declared that terrorism, whether in the name of religion or ethnicity, has no link with public rights or development but is an act of oppression and enmity against the state. He said the people of Balochistan are a “wall of resistance” against extremists and will never surrender before them.
Condemning the recent suicide bombing in Quetta that targeted a political gathering, the chief minister said political differences exist but “the entire province is united against terrorism.” He expressed solidarity with the affected party, its leaders, workers, and families of those killed.
Bugti stressed that peaceful protest is a democratic right, but blocking roads, burning tires, and creating problems for citizens will not be tolerated. He warned that no one would be allowed to endanger the lives of patients, travelers, or ordinary people.
The chief minister announced several development projects for Qila Saifullah and nearby areas, including:
- Creation of new administrative districts, with Muslim Bagh soon to become a district.
- Establishment of a Danish School as per the prime minister’s commitment.
- Construction of Sarki Road (Murgha Faqir to Karam) and Joshin Narai to Aishoot Road after feasibility clearance.
- Rs. 5 million for Qila Saifullah Football Stadium, along with sports equipment, spectator stands, and maintenance machinery.
- Construction of Kan Mehterzai Dam to save water and prevent future shortages.
- Progress on Bateenai Gate and Bazargai Terminal, vital for trade with Central Asia and Punjab.
Bugti further said that Levies Force is being merged into police across the province, but local youth of Qila Saifullah will be given priority in employment. He emphasized that the province’s mineral wealth belongs first to the people of Balochistan, and no one will be allowed to usurp their rights.
The chief minister concluded by thanking MPA Noorullah, Nawab Ayaz Khan Jogezai, tribal elders, and the people for their participation, saying that the bond of tribal respect and brotherhood in Balochistan is unbreakable.
