Quetta: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Balochistan Zone has arrested a man accused of posing as an FIA Assistant Director and defrauding people in various government offices. The arrest was made during a joint operation conducted by the FIA Anti-Corruption Circle and the Anti-Human Trafficking Circle Quetta.

According to FIA officials, the suspect, identified as Bashir Ahmed, had been impersonating an FIA Assistant Director to extort money from different departments and individuals. Acting on intelligence, FIA teams raided near the Deputy Commissioner’s Office in Quetta, where the suspect was taken into custody.

During the operation, officials recovered a fake appointment letter, forged documents, two mobile phones, Pakistani and Afghan passports, two ATM cards, and a 9mm pistol from the suspect’s possession.

The accused has been handed over to the FIA Anti-Corruption Circle Quetta for further investigation. Authorities confirmed that more arrests are likely as the probe continues.

FIA Spokesperson stated that the agency remains committed to cracking down on fraudsters and individuals involved in impersonation or corruption-related crimes in the province.
