The second round of talks between Pakistan and Afghanistan is being held today in Istanbul, the capital of Turkey, where delegations from both countries are discussing key issues including cross-border tensions, terrorism, and the status of Afghan refugees.

According to diplomatic sources, high-level officials from both sides are participating in the meeting, while Qatar and Turkey are playing a facilitative and mediating role in the dialogue.

Sources in Istanbul confirmed that the second round of negotiations between Pakistan and Afghanistan has commenced, with the Pakistani delegation comprising six officials and the Afghan delegation consisting of seven members.

During the first round of talks, the two sides exchanged views on key points of concern; however, this second phase is expected to bring concrete progress toward resolving long-standing disputes.

Pakistan has repeatedly accused the Afghan government of providing shelter to members of the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), an allegation strongly denied by Kabul.

Observers say the talks come at a critical time amid escalating border clashes and rising tensions between the two neighboring nations. Analysts believe that the Istanbul dialogue could open new pathways toward peace, stability, and cooperation in the region.
