TURBAT (Balochistan) – Kech Deputy Commissioner Basheer Ahmed Badini narrowly escaped an assassination attempt on Monday after a motorcycle bomb explosion targeted his convoy near Turbat city, leaving six Levies personnel injured.

According to official sources, the blast occurred near the Tehsildar’s office when the Deputy Commissioner was heading back to his office. The motorcycle-borne improvised explosive device (IED) exploded close to his vehicle, injuring six security guards who were part of his escort team.

Deputy Commissioner Basheer Ahmed Badini remained safe, while the injured Levies officials were rushed to Civil Hospital Turbat, where doctors said their condition is stable.

Following the Turbat explosion, law enforcement agencies and the district administration cordoned off the area and launched a massive search operation to trace the perpetrators. A special investigation team has also been formed to probe the terror attack.

The incident highlights the persistent security challenges in Balochistan, where government officials and security forces often come under attack from insurgent groups.
