QUETTA, October 30, 2025 — Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti has announced a major decision to strengthen the Balochistan Police, stating that Assistant Sub-Inspectors (ASIs) will now be appointed through departmental recruitment instead of external hiring. The move aims to promote merit, transparency, and career growth within the police department.
During his visit to the Central Police Office (CPO) Quetta, CM Bugti paid homage to the martyrs of the police force by laying a floral wreath at the Martyrs’ Monument and offered prayers for their sacrifices.
Chairing a high-level meeting on police affairs, the Chief Minister reviewed the integration of the Levies Force into the Balochistan Police, operational reforms, and measures to modernize policing standards. Several key reforms were approved, including the introduction of advanced technology, forensic tools, and digital communication systems to improve efficiency and crime investigation.
CM Bugti also directed that the Special Operations Wing and Special Security Wing be further strengthened to boost the province’s counterterrorism capabilities. He emphasized that the government will provide full financial and administrative support to the police force.
Highlighting the need for skill development, the Chief Minister ordered continuous training courses, seminars, and professional drills for police personnel. He also approved steps to enhance the martyrs’ compensation packages and welfare initiatives for their families.
“Police modernization and empowerment are our top priorities. We want to see the Balochistan Police become a more dynamic, people-friendly, and well-equipped force,” CM Bugti said.
The Chief Minister also praised the bravery of police officials who embraced martyrdom in recent operations, saying their sacrifices will always be remembered.
