Quetta: The Balochistan government has announced a set of new restrictions across the province in response to a worsening law and order situation. According to the Home Department, the measures include a ban on double riding on motorcycles, covering faces in public spaces, the use of tinted vehicle windows, and the operation of unregistered motorcycles.

Authorities said the decision has been taken with the provincial government’s approval to prevent criminal activities and maintain public safety. The move follows a recent directive in which political gatherings were completely suspended, and Section 144 was enforced throughout the province to restrict large assemblies.

The administration has urged citizens to follow the new rules and cooperate with law enforcement agencies, warning that violations could result in legal action. Security officials have been instructed to ensure strict compliance, especially in areas considered high-risk.

Political commentators suggest that the measures indicate the government’s increasing concern over maintaining peace and preventing incidents that could destabilize the province. The Home Department has clarified that these restrictions are temporary and will be reviewed regularly, with updates communicated to the public as needed.
