Quetta: An important meeting of the Balochistan Revenue Authority (BRA) was held under the chairmanship of Provincial Finance Minister Mir Shoaib Nosherwani, in which the province’s tax collection system and measures for its improvement were thoroughly reviewed.
The meeting was attended by Secretary Finance Imran Zarkoon, Special Secretary Finance Jahangir Kakar, NFC Consultant for Balochistan Mahfooz Ali Khan, BRA Chairman Abdullah Khan, and senior officials of the Finance Department. During the briefing, BRA Chairman Abdullah Khan apprised the participants of the current tax collection situation in the province and the future strategy.
On the occasion, Finance Minister Mir Shoaib Nosherwani stated that aligning the tax collection system of Balochistan with modern requirements is essential. He directed that a comprehensive plan be adopted to bring non-registered sectors into the tax net so that sustainable growth in provincial revenue could be ensured.
He added that strengthening the capacity of BRA and reorganizing it on modern lines is crucial for enhancing revenue collection, which will leave a positive impact on the province’s economy. The Finance Minister appreciated the efforts and progress of the BRA team and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to accelerating and ensuring transparency in the ongoing tax reforms to achieve financial self-reliance for the province.
