Kalat: Teacher and Son Shot Dead by Unknown Assailants in Balochistan

 

News Desk: In a tragic incident in Balochistan, a man and his young son were shot dead by unidentified gunmen in the Khail area of Kalat on Sunday, police officials confirmed. The armed attackers opened fire on local residents, killing 10-year-old Muhammad Ikram—son of schoolteacher Ghulam Sarwar Zahri—on the spot. Ghulam Sarwar, who served as a teacher at Government Boys High School Chobdar, sustained critical injuries during the shooting.

Rescue teams shifted the child’s body and the seriously injured teacher to a nearby hospital. After receiving emergency medical treatment, Ghulam Sarwar was referred to Quetta for advanced care due to the severity of his injuries. However, he later succumbed to his wounds, deepening the tragedy and sparking grief across the community.

According to police, the motive behind the targeted attack remains unknown. Law enforcement agencies have launched a formal investigation and are exploring multiple angles, including personal enmity and targeted killing. Authorities assured that efforts are underway to identify and arrest those responsible.

The deceased teacher, Ghulam Sarwar Zahri, was also an executive member of Bra Hui Academy Pakistan and was related to notable figures such as Mohan Brohi, Amanullah Zahri, Master Ali Akbar Zahri, and Master Abdul Sattar Zahri. The incident has prompted widespread condemnation, with residents urging authorities to enhance security and ensure justice.
