Quetta – Dr. Shabir Ahmed Lehri, Vice Chancellor of Bolan University of Medical & Health Sciences (BUMHS), has emphasized the need for focused leadership and institutional discipline to elevate Balochistan’s universities to the level of the country’s leading institutions.

Speaking at the HEC-NAHE Strategic Planning & Leadership Excellence Workshop, Dr. Lehri highlighted the leadership gaps within universities and the long-term impact of past administrative decisions, particularly the overexpansion of non-essential administrative structures and the initiation of unsustainable academic programs.

He stressed that Balochistan’s universities possess the capacity to match the country’s leading institutions, but require informed decision-making and institutional discipline. Dr. Lehri appreciated the interactive nature of the workshop and underscored the importance of continuing such tailored engagements aligned with Balochistan’s academic and demographic realities.
