Quetta, Balochistan – Serious irregularities have come to light in the recruitment process at Sardar Bahadur Khan Women’s University (SBKWU), the only women’s university in Balochistan, raising major concerns about merit and transparency.
According to an initial investigation, 600 candidates who had actually failed were declared “passed” during the recruitment of secondary level school teachers recruitments process. Reports suggest that over 8,000 teaching positions were advertised by the university across Balochistan , attracting widespread attention and scrutiny.
The process reportedly faced criticism from the public and stakeholders, citing violations of merit, procedural irregularities, and administrative irresponsibility. Concerned voices highlighted that deserving candidates were being unfairly sidelined while ineligible candidates secured appointments.
A recent investigation led by senior journalist Mujib Ahmed Khan confirmed these troubling findings, revealing that hundreds of failed candidates were irregularly declared successful. The report emphasizes the need for urgent corrective measures and accountability to restore faith in the province’s education system.
University officials have not yet publicly commented on the investigation, but education authorities in Balochistan are reportedly monitoring the situation closely.
