News Desk: Chief Minister of Balochistan, Mir Sarfaraz Bugti, on Tuesday met Prime Minister’s Focal Person for Polio, Senator Ayesha Raza Farooq, to review ongoing polio eradication efforts and discuss measures to further strengthen routine immunization across the province.

The meeting was attended by National Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) Coordinator Anwar-ul-Haq and Provincial EOC Coordinator Inam-ul-Haq. Detailed discussions were held on enhancing the effectiveness of polio vaccination campaigns, improving coordination among concerned departments, and addressing operational challenges, particularly in remote and high-risk districts of Balochistan.

Senator Ayesha Raza Farooq appreciated the Government of Balochistan for its continued commitment to polio eradication and child immunization. She said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti, the province has shown improved planning, better field coordination, and encouraging progress in vaccination coverage. She stressed that close cooperation between federal and provincial authorities remains crucial to achieving the shared goal of a polio-free Pakistan.

Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti reiterated that polio eradication is a top national and provincial priority. He said the Balochistan government is fully committed to protecting children from preventable diseases through effective vaccination drives. He added that comprehensive measures, including security arrangements, monitoring mechanisms, public awareness initiatives, and health system support, are being implemented to ensure the success of polio campaigns.

The chief minister also emphasized the importance of strengthening routine immunization to build a sustainable public health system. He reaffirmed that the provincial government will utilize all available resources to ensure that every child in Balochistan has access to life-saving vaccines and to move decisively towards a polio-free future.

Chief Secretary Balochistan Shakeel Qadir Khan also attended the meeting and briefed participants on provincial initiatives, progress in routine immunization, inter-agency coordination, and administrative measures supporting public health and polio eradication efforts.
