In Balochistan, 10,097 patients have recovered from the novel coronavirus so far. The number of patients since the outbreak of the deadly virus reached 11,708 in the province as the Corona Cell confirmed 54 cases, the highest number during last more than a week on Wednesday.

Most of the patients recovered from the COVID19 during isolation at their homes. “The recovery rate in Balochistan is more than 86 percent”, Liaquat Shahwani, the Spokesman government of Balochistan told the daily Quetta Voice.

The recovery rate from the deadly virus appears to be high in Balochistan as compared to other parts of the country. The Balochistan health department has until now confirmed 136 deaths caused by the virus. Most of the deaths have been reported from Quetta, Pishin, Killa Abdullah, Jaffarabad, Chaghi, Mastung districts of the province.

The health department has conducted over 60,000 tests of the novel coronavirus since the outbreak of the pandemic. The government intends to reach out to the patients living in far-flung areas of Balochistan.

Chief Minister Balochistan, Jam Kamal Khan has urged upon the masses to adopt social distancing and follow the standard operating procedure (SOPs) during the fast-approaching Eid ul Azha to contain the virus. The chief executive of the province chaired a high-level meeting on Wednesday with regard to the arrangements about the Eid.
