News Desk: Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti has emphasized that the strength of state governance depends on capable, honest, and disciplined civil officers, reminding newly trained officials that their real responsibility begins with field assignments.
Addressing officers who completed their training at the Balochistan Civil Services Academy, the chief minister said policymaking lies with the government, while officers are duty-bound to ensure its effective implementation. He stressed that reducing the gap between the public and the government and delivering relief to ordinary citizens should remain the top priority of civil servants.
Highlighting the importance of integrity, he said honesty is the foundation of success, whereas corruption is the biggest obstacle to development. He urged merit-based officers to uphold meritocracy and make public service their guiding principle. The chief minister also cautioned officers against engaging in anti-state propaganda and encouraged them to promote constitutional loyalty among the public under Article 5.
CM Bugti noted that uneven development is a national challenge, not limited to Balochistan alone. He asserted that violence cannot weaken the state and warned that those who take up arms against it will not be shown any leniency. He further stated that discipline would not be compromised, revealing that action was taken against an under-training officer for the first time in the academy’s history.
On the occasion, the chief minister also announced the contractual appointment of daily-wage employees at the academy and confirmed that a modern library will be established there in the upcoming provincial budget, aiming to strengthen the training environment for future civil servants.
