Web Desk: The Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) Working Group meeting was held under the chairmanship of Balochistan Chief Secretary Shakeel Qadir Khan, where key measures to promote SMEs, improve access to finance, and resolve sector-related challenges were discussed in detail.
Participants agreed on the introduction of new policies aimed at supporting small and medium-sized businesses. The meeting also decided to launch targeted training programs and provide easy loan facilities through the Akhuwat Foundation to help entrepreneurs start and expand their ventures.
Youth Skills Development and Enterprise Growth
The chief secretary said the proposed initiatives would help strengthen the provincial economy and generate employment opportunities. He instructed all concerned departments to ensure swift execution so that business owners and young entrepreneurs can benefit at the earliest.
He highlighted that skilled labor is essential for the growth of the SME sector. Under the development plan, 4,320 young people will receive technical and vocational training. In addition, 180 SMEs will be strengthened through enterprise development initiatives, while around 57,000 youth will be supported through district-level youth development programs designed to enhance entrepreneurial capacity and business skills.
Senior officials, including the Secretary Industries, Secretary Agriculture, Secretary Livestock, and other representatives, attended the meeting.
