The Balochistan government has extended the smart lockdown till August 17th to contain the novel coronavirus. Home and Tribal Affairs Department issued a notification in this regard. As per the notification, educational institutions will remain closed throughout the province in view of COVID19.

There will also be a ban on the gathering of more than 10 people, all types of religious, political, cultural and social gatherings and programs. No processions, sit-ins and public meetings would be allowed during the smart-lockdown across the province.

All marriage halls, parks, farmhouses, cinemas would remain closed with an objective to contain the deadly virus in the province. Through the notification, the government has urged upon the people to wear masks and follow the standard operating procedure to battle the virus.

The government has also decided to allow markets, shops open from 9 pm to 7 pm as part of the smart-lockdown.
