News Desk:Â Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti confirmed that security forces arrested a female suicide bomber in an intelligence-based operation, successfully foiling a major terrorist plot in Balochistan.
Addressing a press conference alongside Provincial Interior Minister Mir Zia Langove, he termed the action a major success and praised security agencies for their swift and effective response, which prevented potential loss of innocent lives.
Suspect Reveals Recruitment and Training Network
Officials identified the suspect as Laiba, a 19-year-old from Khuzdar district. During the briefing, she disclosed that she had been radicalized and trained for a suicide mission by terrorist operatives.
According to initial investigations, she had links with the banned outfit Balochistan Liberation Army and was in contact with facilitators involved in extremist activities. She further revealed that she had been assigned the task of recruiting and preparing other girls for similar attacks.
Authorities stated that the arrest has exposed key connections between terrorist networks and their support systems.
Government Vows Strong Action Against Terrorism
Mir Sarfraz Bugti emphasized that terrorist groups are exploiting women and misleading the public, but noted that the people of Balochistan reject such narratives and are actively cooperating with law enforcement agencies.
He announced that sensitive cases involving women will be handled by female police officers to ensure their protection and dignity. He also highlighted the importance of countering online extremism and preventing the misuse of digital platforms for propaganda.
Reaffirming the government’s commitment, the chief minister said intelligence-based operations will continue to eliminate terrorism, ensuring peace, stability, and security across Balochistan.
