News Desk: The Balochistan government has rolled out major welfare initiatives, including interest-free loans of up to Rs1.5 million for women and access to global scholarships, targeting youth, minorities, and transgender individuals to boost inclusive development across the province.

Under the Women Economic Endowment Fund, women are being provided loans ranging from Rs500,000 to Rs1.5 million to support entrepreneurship and financial independence. At the same time, more than 100 annual scholarships have been allocated for minorities and the transgender community.

Opportunities in Around 200 International Universities

The flagship Benazir Bhutto Scholarship Program, described as the largest in the province’s history, is enabling students to pursue education from matric to higher levels, with opportunities in around 200 international universities. The government is also covering up to 16 years of education expenses for children of martyrs and civilian victims.

These initiatives were discussed in a meeting between Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti and Uzma Yaqoob, Executive Director of FDI Pakistan, focusing on ongoing reforms and social uplift programs.

Pink Bus Service and Pink Scooties Scheme

In addition, projects like the Pink Bus Service and Pink Scooties Scheme are being expanded to provide safe and reliable transport for women, while the province’s first comprehensive Youth Policy aims to create better opportunities for young people.

A transgender policy is also being implemented to ensure equal access to education and jobs, alongside the establishment of a dedicated endowment fund for minority welfare.

The chief minister reiterated that empowering youth, women, minorities, and other marginalized groups is key to achieving sustainable growth, adding that the government is committed to ensuring equal opportunities for all segments of society.
