Qaseem Shah:

Quetta, April 14: A division bench of the Balochistan High Court on Tuesday set aside the provincial government’s notification appointing Hadi Tareen Advocate as Chairman of the Balochistan Services Tribunal and ordered the reinstatement of Naseebullah Tareen Advocate.

The bench, headed by Chief Justice Muhammad Kamran Malakhail and comprising Justice Najmuddin Mengal, issued the ruling while hearing a constitutional petition challenging the legality of the appointment.

In its order, the court declared the government’s notification void, observing that the appointment did not align with the relevant legal procedures and requirements.

The bench directed authorities to immediately restore Naseebullah Tareen Advocate as chairman, thereby reinstating the previous administrative setup of the tribunal.

Legal experts say the judgment reinforces the principle of merit and due process in public sector appointments. The provincial government has yet to respond officially to the decision.
