SHIKARPUR: Acting on the directives of Sindh Inspector General of Police (IGP) Javed Alam Odho, Sindh Police successfully rescued an 11-year-old girl, Hooram Saeed Pathan, who had been kidnapped from Peshawar, during a targeted operation in the Katcha area of Shikarpur.
The operation was launched after the IGP took notice of reports circulating on social media regarding the abduction of the minor girl and directed SSP Shikarpur Muhammad Kaleem Malik to ensure her safe recovery. Under the supervision of local police leadership, an intensive operation was carried out in the Kot Shaho riverine area of Shikarpur.
According to police officials, the operation resulted in the safe recovery of Hooram Saeed Pathan on May 23. A day earlier, police had also rescued Jennifer Amir Masih, a resident of Lahore who was allegedly abducted after being lured with a fake job offer.
During the operation, two alleged kidnappers and notorious dacoits, Abdul Waheed alias Mulla and Yaseen Banglani, were killed in an exchange of fire, while several other criminals sustained injuries.
IGP Javed Alam Odho commended DIG Larkana Nasir Aftab, SSP Shikarpur Muhammad Kaleem Malik, and the officers and personnel who participated in the operation, announcing cash rewards and commendation certificates in recognition of their performance.
“The officers and jawans displayed exceptional bravery, professionalism and commitment by risking their lives to ensure the safe recovery of innocent victims,” the IGP said. He described the successful rescue operation as a significant achievement in the ongoing crackdown against kidnapping gangs and criminal networks operating in the riverine belt of upper Sindh. The Sindh Police chief reiterated the department’s resolve to continue operations against dacoits and organized crime in Katcha areas.
