Quetta: The Balochistan Union of Journalists (BUJ) has strongly condemned the killing of private TV journalist Lala Asrafil, who was reporting from Musa Khel, and demanded a transparent, impartial, and comprehensive investigation into the incident.

In a joint statement, BUJ President Manzoor Ahmed Rind, General Secretary Shah Hussain Tareen, and other executive members expressed profound grief and sorrow over the tragic incident. They extended heartfelt condolences and solidarity to the family of the slain journalist.

The BUJ leadership urged Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti and Provincial Interior Minister Mir Ziaullah Langove to initiate a thorough inquiry into the incident from all possible angles. They stressed the need to identify the motives behind the killing and ensure that those responsible are swiftly brought to justice.

The union noted that the repeated targeting of journalists in Balochistan has intensified concerns within the media fraternity and created an environment of fear. It added that the BUJ will soon announce its future course of action regarding the situation.
