CHAMAN: More than 50 armed men on motorcycles attacked a police station and a security post in northern Balochistan, setting fire to the installations and seizing weapons and vehicles, police sources confirmed.
​The coordinated incidents took place in the districts of Pishin and Qilla Abdullah, which border Quetta’s northwestern mountain ranges.
​According to police sources, the armed men launched a simultaneous assault on the Sultan Police Station in the Dinar area of Pishin district, and the Gilo checkpost in the Doolangi area of Gulistan tehsil, Qilla Abdullah district.
​The attackers overpowered the police personnel on duty, took their service weapons, and drove away with official vehicles. The assailants then set fire to the police station, the checkpost, and the adjacent residential quarters. Before fleeing the scene, the men also used an excavator to demolish the structure of the Gilo checkpost.
​Soon after the incident, security forces reached the affected areas, cordoned off the region, and initiated a thorough investigation.
​Security has been significantly heightened across both districts, with strict monitoring established at all key transit points. Local residents expressed panic and concern following the attacks. No group has claimed responsibility for the incident.
