News Desk: Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti on Tuesday chaired the 26th State Hardening Conference in Quetta, where senior civil, military, and law enforcement officials reviewed the province’s security landscape, assessed ongoing counterterrorism operations, and discussed measures to strengthen governance and reinforce the state’s writ.

The high-level meeting focused on the overall law and order situation, inter-agency coordination, and the progress of Operation Shaban, a joint operation being conducted by the Pakistan Army, Frontier Corps (FC) Balochistan, and Police against terrorists. Participants expressed confidence in the operation’s progress and reiterated their commitment to intensifying efforts to dismantle terrorist networks and safeguard public security across the province.

The conference also paid tribute to the security personnel who lost their lives in the Hanna Urak and Mangi Dam incidents. Participants honored their sacrifices and reaffirmed that operations against terrorists would continue until lasting peace and stability are restored in Balochistan.

Speaking at the meeting, Chief Minister Bugti said terrorism remained one of Pakistan’s most serious national security challenges and required a unified response from political leadership, security institutions, and the public. He stressed that terrorists and those facilitating their activities would be brought to justice, adding that no anti-state elements would be allowed to threaten peace or challenge the authority of the state in Balochistan.

The chief minister said the provincial government was also pursuing governance reforms aimed at improving the performance of public institutions and enhancing service delivery. He noted that effective governance and strong institutions were essential for ensuring long-term security and public confidence.

Bugti further emphasized that the government was working in close coordination with security forces not only to combat terrorism but also to accelerate development projects in remote and underdeveloped areas. He said sustainable peace could only be achieved by combining improved security with economic growth, infrastructure development, and better public services.

Representatives from the Pakistan Army, Frontier Corps Balochistan, Pakistan Coast Guards, Police, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), Customs, and other federal and provincial departments attended the conference.

The meeting concluded with a renewed pledge by all participating institutions to strengthen cooperation, enhance intelligence sharing, uphold the writ of the state, and continue coordinated operations to eliminate terrorism and ensure durable peace throughout Balochistan.
