RAWALPINDI : Security forces have killed 10 terrorists in intelligence-based joint counter-terrorism operations conducted in Surab and Mastung districts of Balochistan over the past 48 hours, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Wednesday.
According to the ISPR, the operations were carried out as part of ongoing efforts against the terrorist network of Indian-sponsored Fitna al Hindustan and Fitna al Khwarij, targeting remnants of terrorists and their facilitators in different areas of Balochistan.
During multiple intelligence-based operations (IBOs) and area sanitization activities, security forces effectively targeted terrorist hideouts and locations.
Seven terrorists were killed during operations in District Surab, while three terrorists were eliminated in District Mastung. The security forces also apprehended two female suicide bombers and a facilitator allegedly linked to the Indian-sponsored Fitna al Hindustan network.
According to the military’s media wing, weapons, ammunition and improvised explosive devices (IEDs) used by the terrorists were also recovered during the operations.
Sanitization operations are continuing in the affected areas to locate and eliminate any remaining terrorists and their facilitators.
The ISPR said the ongoing counter-terrorism campaign under “Azm-e-Istehkam”, approved by the Federal Apex Committee under the National Action Plan, will continue with full momentum.
The security forces and law enforcement agencies remain committed to eliminating the threat of foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism from Pakistan, the ISPR added.
