More than 90 percent of the staff of Balochistan education directorate was found absent during surprise visit of provincial minister education, Sardar Yar Muhammad Rind on Monday morning. The Minister paid a surprise visit to the main education directorate to check the officers and other staff members but found most of them absent. “The plight of this directorate is disturbing”, he said.

“I order an inquiry into the absence of all officers and others”, Mr. Rind told reporters in the directorate. This cannot be tolerated any more if this is the situation in a central directorate then what would be the attitude of officers in far-flung areas of Balochistan, he mentioned.

During the minister’s visit, the director school, director colleges, 4 deputy directors, 4 additional directors and other lower staff was found absent. “Disciplinary action would be taken against the absent employees”, the education minister stated.

The Balochistan government had earlier announced to open administrative offices of the education department after four months of continued closure in the aftermath of the outbreak of coronavirus.

Balochistan education minister, Sardar Rind had sought 6 months’ time to improve the education sector in the province during a debate in the provincial assembly the other day.
