The Balochistan government on Tuesday issued another notification declaring wearing facemasks necessary for entry into civil secretariat and other offices. “No Facemask No Entry”, a notification issued by the services and general administration department said.

The provincial government has made this decision after a rise in the number of novel coronavirus cases in the province. Cases of the deadly virus have jumped from less than a dozen to 80 in per day. This has sent alarm bells in the government circles. The government had issued a similar notification asking the people to “wear a mask or face the consequences”. 

All administrative secretaries, commissioners, deputy commissioners have been directed to ensure the implementation of wearing masks for entry into their offices. The officials have been directed to ensure strict implementation of standard operating procedures including wearing masks, using sanitizer and following social-distancing to contain the coronavirus.

Balochistan has so far confirmed 12,321 cases of the novel coronavirus. The virus has caused 138 deaths in the province.
