ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has officially rescheduled the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) 2026 from August 16, 2026, to September 20, 2026, following the directions of the Prime Minister of Pakistan.

According to an official notification issued on August 6, 2026, the decision applies to all MDCAT 2026 candidates across Pakistan. PMDC stated that the postponement has been made in the best public interest to ensure the smooth, secure, and transparent conduct of the nationwide medical entrance examination.

The regulatory body clarified that all other terms, conditions, examination arrangements, and admission procedures will remain unchanged unless further notified. Candidates have been advised to regularly check the official PMDC website and its communication channels for updates regarding the MDCAT 2026 exam schedule, test centres, and other important instructions.

PMDC also expressed appreciation for the understanding and cooperation of students, parents, universities, and other stakeholders, while regretting any inconvenience caused by the revised examination date.

The MDCAT 2026 is Pakistan’s mandatory entrance examination for admissions to MBBS and BDS programmes, with thousands of aspiring medical and dental students expected to appear in the test nationwide.
