News Desk: A bridge on the Quetta-Karachi National Highway was damaged in an explosion carried out by unidentified individuals in the Marjan area of Kalat district on Thursday, police said.

According to police, the explosives were detonated as a passenger coach was passing over the bridge. Several passengers sustained injuries in the blast and were shifted to Nawab Ghous Bakhsh Raisani Hospital in Mastung for medical treatment.

The explosion caused significant damage to the bridge and disrupted traffic on the national highway. However, vehicular movement is continuing through an alternative route.

Police and other security personnel reached the site following the incident and launched further action to determine the circumstances of the blast and identify those responsible.

Further investigation is underway.
