Web Desk: National Assembly Opposition Leader Mahmood Khan Achakzai has warned that creating new provinces in Pakistan through executive orders instead of following the Constitution would amount to a direct attack on the country’s foundations.

Achakzai said the Constitution of Pakistan clearly lays down the legal procedure for the creation of new provinces, and any attempt to bypass this process through administrative orders would be unconstitutional.

He warned that such a move could trigger widespread public resistance, with people taking to the streets across the country against what he described as an unconstitutional step.

“Pakistan cannot afford another crisis or political adventurism,” Achakzai said, urging all relevant stakeholders to respect the constitutional framework governing the formation of provinces.
