Quetta: The Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) 2026 was successfully conducted in Balochistan on Sunday, with thousands of aspiring medical and dental students appearing for the entrance examination at centres in Quetta and Islamabad.
The Bolan University of Medical and Health Sciences (BUMHS), Quetta, supervised the conduct of MDCAT 2026 in Balochistan, with arrangements made to ensure a secure, transparent and orderly examination process for candidates seeking admission to MBBS and BDS programmes.
According to the latest available figures, around 9,923 candidates from Balochistan were registered for MDCAT 2026, while the total number of registered candidates across Pakistan stood at approximately 138,000.
BUMHS Leadership Oversees MDCAT 2026 Arrangements
During the examination, Balochistan Education Minister Raheela Hameed Khan Durrani, BUMHS Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Shabbir Ahmed Lehri, BUITEMS Vice Chancellor Prof. Khalid Hafeez, Prof. Dr. Syed Rauf Shah, Controller of Examinations Prof. Dr. Din Muhammad, BUITEMS Registrar Jamal Mustafa, BUMHS Registrar Syed Aurangzeb, Assistant Commissioner Quetta West and other officials visited examination centres.
The officials inspected security arrangements, examination procedures, candidate facilities, staff deployment and overall administrative preparations at the centres.
The Vice Chancellor BUMHS Prof. Dr. Shabbir Ahmed Lehri and Registrar BUMHS Syed Aurangzeb remained closely involved in overseeing the arrangements for MDCAT 2026 in Balochistan. The university administration monitored the examination process and coordinated with relevant authorities to facilitate candidates and ensure compliance with examination protocols.
According to the BUMHS administration, the MDCAT 2026 examination started on time and concluded peacefully. No major untoward incident or significant administrative disruption was reported during the examination process.
The arrangements included security measures, coordination with district authorities, deployment of examination staff and facilities for candidates at the designated centres.
The successful completion of MDCAT 2026 in Balochistan marks an important step for thousands of students competing for admission to medical and dental colleges across the province and the country.
BUMHS appreciated the cooperation of the Balochistan Government, Education Department, district administration, security agencies, BUITEMS administration, examination staff and other relevant institutions for their role in ensuring the smooth conduct of the entrance test.
