News Desk: Former Balochistan chief minister and Balochistan Education Endowment Fund (BEEF) founder Dr Abdul Malik Baloch has reviewed the province’s scholarship programmes and educational support initiatives during a visit to the BEEF office in Quetta.
Dr Abdul Malik was briefed on BEEF’s performance, ongoing education initiatives and scholarship schemes aimed at supporting talented, deserving and meritorious students across Balochistan.
BEEF Chief Executive Officer Khalid Mandai welcomed Dr Abdul Malik and briefed him on the organisation’s scholarship system, merit-based selection process, student facilitation measures and efforts to ensure transparency.
The scholarship programmes include the Fully Funded District Topper Scholarship, which provides financial support to high-performing students from each district.
The Transgender Scholarship supports transgender students in pursuing education, while the Civil Shuhada Scholarship provides educational assistance to the children of civil martyrs.
Under the Fully Funded Sadiq Public School Scholarship, selected talented students receive full financial support to study at Sadiq Public School.
The Cadet Excellence Scholarship provides educational assistance to outstanding students enrolled in cadet colleges.
BEEF also runs an Out of Province Scholarship for students from Balochistan studying at higher educational institutions outside the province. The Partially Funded Scholarship provides eligible students with financial assistance to meet part of their educational expenses.
Officials told Dr Abdul Malik that BEEF’s scholarship programmes are designed to help students continue their education and access better opportunities despite financial constraints.
Dr Abdul Malik stressed the importance of merit, transparency and ensuring that scholarships reach deserving students. He said providing quality education to Balochistan’s youth was essential for the province’s future.
During the visit, the former chief minister also inspected different sections of the BEEF office and reviewed its administrative and educational activities.
BEEF officials and relevant authorities were present during the visit, where they also discussed measures to further expand educational opportunities and strengthen scholarship support for students across Balochistan.
