By Our Correspondent: An attack on Baghbana Police Station in Khuzdar left the police building damaged after armed attackers allegedly used explosives in an attempt to blow it up, police said on Tuesday.
No casualties were reported at the police station attack. Security forces immediately cordoned off the area and launched a search and clearance operation.
In a separate development linked to the incident, Khuzdar City SHO Munir Alam Jang was wounded when armed men allegedly ambushed his police team in the Baghbana area as they were travelling to the scene.
Police said the SHO suffered two bullet wounds to his legs and was shifted to the Teaching Hospital for treatment. His condition was reported to be stable and out of danger.
A heavy contingent of police, security forces and the Anti-Terrorist Force (ATF) has been deployed in the area as the operation continues to locate the attackers.
Authorities are investigating the Khuzdar police station attack and examining the circumstances surrounding the ambush on the police team.
