Balochistan University, 10 Schools closed after fresh wave of COVID19

QUETTA: The administration closed Balochistan University and 10 government-run schools in the aftermath of a fresh-wave of COVID19. The University administration reported 23 cases of the deadly virus on Saturday.
“Balochistan University closed after reports of coronavirus cases”, Liaquat Shahwani, the Spokesman government of Balochistan said. He said so far 67 cases confirmed in educational institutions since their opening on September15. The provincial government reopened universities, colleges, and higher secondary schools after eight months. The government also formed committees on district level to ensure implementation of the Standard Operating Procedures.

Apart from this, 10 government-run schools closed in Quetta, Zhob, and other parts of the province after reports of COVID19. “The educational institution that reported more than 2 cases would be closed”, Mr. Shahwani told reporters at his regular press conference. He feared that the number of coronavirus cases likely to be increased in October.
The Spokesman informed that random testing would be conducted at educational institutions. “Around 1,000 tests already conducted in Balochistan”, Mr. Shahwani mentioned. Cases ratio in educational institutions is 14 percent.
Balochistan reported 14,138 cases of coronavirus
Balochistan has reported 14,138 cases of coronavirus so far. The virus has caused 145 deaths since its outbreak, the Corona Cell reported on Saturday. However, 12,937 patients have recovered from the deadly virus in Balochistan up till now. Most of the patients recovered from the deadly virus at their homes in isolation.
The health department has conducted over 86,000 tests of the coronavirus in the province. “We want to expand the process of testing in Balochistan”, Mr. Shahwani stated. The provincial government has also made a plan to establish laboratories at the divisional level to reach out to the maximum number of patients.
