Kalat rape incident: Police arrest 3 accused

QUETTA: Police arrested 3 accused involved in the rape and murder of an 8-year old boy in Balochistan’s Kalat district. “All three accused arrested last night”, the Inspector General of Police Balochistan, Mohsin Hassan Butt told Quetta Voice on Friday.

Police conducted a raid in Kalat and arrested all three accused involved in the cold-blooded murder of a minor boy. “Police have been interrogating the accused”, Ziaullah Langove, the Home Minister Balochistan said in a statement.

The accused had raped and murdered an eight-year-old minor Imran in Kalat city of Balochistan the other day. The dead body of the victim shifted to Quetta civil hospital for postmortem. The medical report proved the minor raped and brutally murdered, Dr. Ayesha, the Police Surgeon confirmed. The minor boy raped by more than one accused as per the medical report, the Police Surgeon mentioned.

Outrage

The incident caused outrage among the people. The brutal act widely condemned on formal and social media with people calling for hanging rapists. Home Minister Balochistan, Mir Ziaullah Langove, and other high ups took notice of the tragic incident. “Police deserve appreciation after the arrest of culprits involved in the incident”, Mr. Langove said.

The Deputy Inspector General of Police, Javed Odho had visited Kalat and met with the broken family and reviewed progress regarding the probe into the tragedy. The Deputy Inspector General of Police Crimes Branch Wazir Khan Nasar also reached Kalat to probe into the cold-blooded murder of minor boy.

The rape and murder of the minor in Kalat have come almost three weeks after an 8-Year old boy raped and murdered in a similar incident in Balochistan’s Killa Abdullah district. Chief Justice Balochistan High Court (BHC), Mr. Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhail had taken notice of the incident and directed all divisional commissioners to submit a report in this regard.

Violence against women and children increased in Balochistan recently.
